ABOUT SOUTHERN GENTLEMEN
Originally founded in 1975 in Conyers, Southern Gentlemen Barbershop has been a local institution for generations. Since relocating to Social Circle in 2007, it has continued to serve the community with a mix of tradition, craftsmanship, and care.
In 2020, after the retirement of the previous owner, the shop was saved from closure by Angelo Alvear — a passionate barber with a vision to preserve its legacy while taking it to the next level. Just three days after taking ownership, the shop was forced to close due to the quarantine shutdown. Rather than waiting for things to return to normal, Angelo used that time to reimagine what a modern barbershop experience could be — combining the old-school attention to detail with today’s conveniences and standards of professionalism.
Over the past five years, Southern Gentlemen has grown into a vibrant hub for both clients and barbers. From implementing an easy appointment system to training and building a skilled team, the shop has continued to raise the bar in service and atmosphere. Now located in the heart of historic Downtown Social Circle, it’s a space where tradition meets progress — and every client leaves looking and feeling their best.
